Reflexology Explained

What is Clinical Reflexology?

Reflexology is a complementary therapy including foot massage and the treatment of a wide range of conditions. All of our organs and aspects of our bodies manifest as reflexes (or points) in our feet and hands. By applying specific massage techniques to these reflexes, I am able to provide treatments to help people who suffer from a wide range of presenting conditions.

These include (but not limited to); stress and anxiety, tension, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), aches and pains, menstruation, perimenopause and menopause. Reflexology can help with relaxation and improving mood.

What's unique about the Reflexology I offer?

As part of your initial consultation I gather details about  your health, holistically. I then tailor each individual treatment to focus on your top presenting conditions where I can help you the most. (Optional) Through multiple sessions, we monitor the effect of treatments on your conditions. Also, in my Practitioner Diploma I received a Distinction in the Reflexology module and Merit in the Physiology module (see below).

What experience do I have?

From mid-April to June 2024 I volunteered as a Complementary Therapist at the St Columba's Hospice in Edinburgh. There I provided the wonderful staff with treatments, which have been greatly received and multiple staff members have booked in for repeat bookings with me.

What are my qualifications?

Since September 2023 I have been a student of the Practitioner Diploma in Clinical Reflexology with the Complementary Therapy School (CTS). In May 2024, I completed the course work, including a Distinction in the Reflexology Module (practical and theory) and a Merit in the Physiology Module.

This course is credited by the University of the West of Scotland (UWS). It is the highest level and only qualification of it's kind in the UK. I have completed 4 case studies (of 10 hours of treatments each). To achieve the final qualification, I continue to perform multiple sessions every week on my journey to completing 100 treatments as part of my Practitioner Diploma in Clinical Reflexology.

Trauma Informed

How are my services trauma informed?

Mind - Prior to the treatment I consult with you (your mind) on your top presenting conditions and what you would like assistance with in the treatment. I gather any preferences you have, such as eyes open throughout, silent session (talking at the end), avoid exercises with breathing, avoid references to specific areas of your body, avoid certain elements (such as water or fire). I then tailor the session to your exact needs.

Body - I use Reflexology to form a connection with your body, understanding the areas that we can help the most.

Soul - In my Psychic Reflexologist and Quantum Healing services I psychically consult with your guides, soul and higherself to be guided throughout the session. With their continual guidance, I am able to personalise your treatment to where I can safely help you the most.

Energy - In my Quantum Energy Healing I continually read your body's energy points (chakras) and areas across your body, to understand what can be treated in the session, what healing can start in the session, and what needs to be left for the future.
